Our energy and diesel figures for 2025
Annual PUE fell to 1.43 at SEC1 and 1.31 at NWK1. Generator run time at SEC1 was dominated by one afternoon in June.
Our energy and diesel figures for 2025 are now on the sustainability page.
Annual power usage effectiveness was 1.43 at SEC1, down from 1.45, and 1.31 at NWK1, down from 1.32. Most of SEC1’s improvement came from 3,910 hours of free cooling, the most we have recorded there, and from retuning the chilled-water temperatures in Halls 1 to 3.
Generators at SEC1 ran for 212 set-hours, 94 of them on one afternoon: June 24, when both utility feeders were lost in the heat wave and a generator caught fire. Without that day the figure would have been the lowest since the site opened. NWK1’s generators ran for 196 set-hours, almost all of them tests.
We matched 61% of our electricity with renewable energy certificates from the regional grid, and 34% hour by hour. We are publishing both numbers because the first is the one that sounds good.
